Applied Theater Practitioner

Cherry, or Suchawee Phetphanomporn, is the only member of The Oasis who is not a psychotherapist. She is the creative complement that will bring the drama process into learning. Digesting things that were previously difficult to understand Or difficult to touch to become fun and memorable

Cherry is a stage actor. A dramatist in creating learning and is an acting teacher with experience working with children with a wide range of learning needs. Starting from having the opportunity to study in the Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts Thammasat University, a branch of Drama. After graduating, he started working as a theater actor.

There is no doubt that love and passion in a theater. But the experience that remains in her mind is the impression of Theater In Education and Creative Drama, where she can understand the issues that arise with herself through the drama. Cherry then began to study and work in-depth about the process of using drama to create learning. Even when they went out to open their eyes at the Australian drama festival with a respected teacher. And found a new science, like Baby drama, which is a drama for children under six months of age; she is more confident that the world still has much knowledge that can be used to work with children and young people. This led to the decision to study in two fields: Applied Theater and Actor Training and Coaching in England.

Sherry's confidence in theater science also comes from personal experience. She recounted when she brought a drama to teach waste separation to special children. At that time, it was challenging because the children had limited learning boundaries. But Sherry and the team turned boring into fun for the kids to run towards. Through the creation of human character garbage And eyes that see everyone's learning potential

“We look at him as an average child with a development like a child under four. What did this age learn from? The team with grandchildren suggested that kids like electric humans like the Power Rangers. So we dressed up as trash humans. It is easy to create songs for children to sing along because we can catch that the children respond well to the rhythm, and the drums are made into the songs. Play a game about who's got what kind of trash and run to the trash, kids screaming throughout the school and still singing; months have passed. We feel here. We found it A children's learning method that one believes will not be learning or challenging to learn. Let's have fun and know from the heart. "

In conjunction with Acting Approach, the Applied Theater Science, where she continues to study, she has a wide variety of tools ready to be applied for many applications. She has experience working with a wide range of children. Both in Thailand and abroad, such as children in probation A group of girls who have experienced abuse. Refugee children group Or groups of children with disabilities When she works with a psychotherapist and combines the techniques of the drama process with her knowledge of psychology. The process can be even deeper to heal a problem in the client's mind, such as helping the child build a sense of security. Or practice raising awareness for self-understanding and emotional state By applying Physical Movement and Acting Approach exercises to create a learning process. For the parents themselves, theater arts can also be used to understand their children better. So whatever the problem is, Cherry believes she can apply her tools to design learning for everyone.

“We believe that everyone can learn. Effective learning is learning from the heart. If the heart learns, He will remember it. It will have the power and make that person want to change. ” She concluded an essential lesson as a drama activist with more than ten years of experience.
