THE OASIS Psychiatric Clinic Bangkok

Pink Sofa

If you find yourself walking in the desert under mid-day heat, with your throat incredibly parched from thirst and body sweating profusely, what is the one thing that will revitalize your heart and keep you going? The answer, of course, is an “oasis,” a lush green area with natural spring water in the middle of the dessert.

In the context of modern life, the word “oasis” is often used as a metaphor for a calm, pleasant place in the middle of somewhere busy and unpleasant. At The Oasis, we strive to provide an environment where everyone can feel psychologically safe and nurtured.

The Oasis was founded by a team of multi-disciplinary professionals who value the concept of the “four pillars of health.” These four pillars, including physical, mental, familial, and spiritual well-being, determine each person’s quality of life. When one of these pillars is not functioning well, the person may encounter difficulties that prevent them from living a fulfilling life and may need some assistance before continuing.

The Oasis’s team of professionals places utmost attention on ensuring that you have a safe and trusted space where you can receive the quality of care that you need, in order to rest your tired soul, rediscover meaning in your life, and grow to your fullest potential. We will walk alongside you on a journey of self-discovery, where you redefine your self-worth and cherish the freedom that life presents to you. At The Oasis, you have a choice to start your journey, whether through psychotherapy, psychiatry, psychosocial rehabilitation, or self-development consultations.

Our founder, Bong (Tassaya Ruangsri), a psychotherapist and play therapist with more than ten years of experience, believes that the psychotherapeutic process that utilizes an integrative and holistic approach produces the most satisfying outcome. Her perspective is based on the diversity in human nature, where individuals cannot be fitted into the same mold, thus requiring a tailored approach to psychotherapy. Bong prioritizes the accessibility of service and user-friendliness, specifically by providing a wide range of therapeutic modalities and more flexible use of space compared to hospitals, to ensure that each visit to a psychotherapist or psychiatrist is a pleasant experience. Sharing these values and perspectives, a team of professionals came together with Bong and joined hands in building their visions in to reality.

Dr. Ta (Anothai Soonsawat), our first team member, is a psychiatrist who specializes in geriatric psychiatry. He strives toward the goal of providing the highest level of care, in order to enhance the quality of life of those who come to see him. Moreover, Dr. Ta is an avid practitioner of yoga and a certified yoga instructor from an institute in India. In addition to his role as a psychiatrist, Dr. Ta is also a yoga instructor at The Oasis.

Our second team member, Ann (Patcharin Saejea) is a psychologist who discovered yoga as a means of improving her own well-being as well as of people around her. Ann trained heavily to become a certified yoga instructor both in Thailand and India. Today, she has garnered more than 10 years of experience as a yoga instructor and, combined with her training in psychology, can integrate both modalities when conducting either individual or group sessions, to the benefit of those who come to see her.

In addition to the yoga team, The Oasis’ play therapy team features Safe (Ratchata Thanomkitti), a certified play therapist who discovered himself as a play therapist after beginning his career as a professional dance instructor. As an instructor, Safe came in contact with many children and, in helping these children learn and grow according to their developmental milestones, became motivated to pursue a master’s degree in developmental psychology. After completing his master’s degree, Safe continued to further his skills by completing the Post Graduate Certificate in Therapeutic Play Skill from The Academy of Play and Child Psychotherapy (APAC). Today, Safe is both a dance instructor and play therapist who understands children’s developmental stages and can integrate dancing as an intervention to help with self-esteem and personality.

The next member of The Oasis team is Fei (Nicha Leehacharoenkul), an art therapist with a master’s degree in art therapy from LASALLE College of the Arts, Singapore. Before becoming an art therapist, Fei has a background in drama and working with children and families living with HIV. For as long as Fei can remember, she has had a particular interest in the complexity of the human mind. This personal interest inspired Fei to study mental health, art therapy and become an art therapist.

The next team member is Cherry (Suchawadee Phetpanomporn), trainer of Applied Theatre Practitioner and stage performer who brings a background in performing arts to The Oasis. With two master’s degrees from the United Kingdom (Applied Theatre: Theatre in Education and Actor Training and Coaching), Cherry integrates applied theatre techniques in her work with a diverse group of people, particularly children, and adolescents. She specializes in helping children who have special needs or encounter specific challenges and their families overcome difficulties together.

Joining the art therapists’ team, Pie (Oratip Nimkannon) brings The Oasis a perspective on the co-creation of change through the relational process (therapeutic relationship). She has witnessed the human potential in overcoming psychological pain and rebuilding their lives from scratch when given the right condition. Her background in counseling refugees and survivors of childhood traumas has reaffirmed her belief in human resiliency and change as a collaborative process. Pie has two master’s degrees in counseling psychology and art therapy.

Ta-Satita Rojpojjanarat is an art psychotherapist with a master’s degree in art psychotherapy from Goldsmiths, University of London. Initially trained in textile art & design and contemporary jewelry, Ta’s curiosity and interest in the inner world of emotions and belief in the power of art-making inspired her to pursue a career in art psychotherapy. Ta has experience working with vulnerable populations, particularly the elderly and children with special needs.

With a diverse range of backgrounds and expertise,

The Oasis team of professionals believes that we, as helpers prioritize the goal of providing the highest quality of care possible to help restore the physical, mental, familial, and spiritual well-being of those who come to see us. This shared goal is of the utmost importance to us, rather than making a profit as a business.

If you or anyone you know are looking for quality mental health service, think of The Oasis as the place where you can take the first step on a journey towards healing.
